Derek Schrier is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Indaba Capital Management, LP. He is formerly a Partner at Farallon Capital Management, LLC. From 1992 to 1994, Derek worked for the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, ultimately helping manage the elections research for the African National Congress during South Africa’s first-ever free elections.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of Matriculate, a non-profit organization helping to provide college access to high-achieving, low-income students. Derek also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Boston Review, a journal of social and cultural criticism. He is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Councils at Stanford Law School and Princeton University. Derek is a graduate of Princeton University, the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and Stanford Law School. He is married with three children and lives in San Francisco.
